MANY CONGRATULATIONS & A VERY BIG THANK YOU to everyone involved in preparing the North East players for the Boys U17/15 Regional Tournament over the weekend at Belle Vue, Manchester - RESULTS
This year the NORTH EAST UNDER 15 BOYS TEAM WON THE REGIONAL TOURNAMENT TODAY
It was hoped that the North East Squads could build on last year's success, and build on it they did.
Last year it was good to see our players make the other Regions, and EH Officials, sit up and realise we mean business 'up North' and the so called North/South divide is now non existent.
This year the NORTH EAST UNDER 15 BOYS TEAM WON THE REGIONAL TOURNAMENT TODAY.
CONGRATULATIONS must go to the U15 players for performing so well and really giving the EH Officials a firm poke in the ribs as to our intentions and desire to bring success in Hockey to this area.
The U17s similarly played some quality Hockey that was not rewarded with the results they deserved, this was not helped by some interesting umpiring decisions and twists of fortune. It was a difficult act to follow after last year and the other Regions clearly had to treat our U17s with considerable caution and respect.
Two excellent NORTH EAST TEAMS OF MANAGERS & COACHES leading TWO SKILLFUL AND ENTHSUIASTIC TEAMS OF PLAYERS supported by knowledgeable and supportive Parents was a joy to watch and enjoy, both the hockey and experience.
CONGRATULATIONS AND THANK YOU TO THE COACHING TEAMS.
UNDER 15: IAN WHITE, NORMAN BORRETT, GARY HADCROFT, GARY GRANT.
UNDER 17: ANDY MUSGRAVE, NEAL DEAKIN AND MIKE VICKERS.
Whilst these guys, the Coaches and the players, are at the sharp end of the competition structure, they are supported by the Club, School and County Coaches who work so hard to give our young players the opportunity to progress and perform at the highest level.
We cannot leave out the PARENTS who contribute so much in time and finance to support the players, to encourage, enthuse, transport, and watch pitch side, as well as put up with highs and lows of the Hockey season.
