Yorkshire Do the County Double!
Following the success of Yorkshire's Women two weekends ago in winning the Women's North County Championship, Yorkshire's men made it a happy double today, when they won the EH Men's County Championship B Division at Old Loughtonians, beating Kent in the semi-final and Norfolk in the final. Yorkshire are promoted back to the A Division for next year's competition. More information when available and full results once EH get round to updating the EH Website!

Belated congratulations go to the Yorkshire Women's County Squad who won the North Women's County Championship 'Cock of the North' competition at Wakefield HC over the weekend of 17/18 May 2014

Five counties competed in the weekend long competition that Yorkshire won: Cheshire, Cumbria, Isle of Man, Lancashire and Yorkshire.
Yorkshire won what proved to be a decisive 2-1 victory against Lancashire in their opening match but followed this up later on Saturday with a disappointing 1-1 draw against Cheshire.
Sunday's opener was against the Isle of Man who were seen off with four first half Yorkshire goals. This was followed by a game against then second-place team Cumbria who were ruthlessly despatched 5-0 thanks in part to a Cat Horn hatrick.
The win against Cumbria put Yorkshire in an unassailable position even though the four other counties still had another game to play.
Lancashire's 4-0 win against Cheshire gave them the runners-up spot one point behind triumphant Yorkshire.
