Gerry Kale
Many in the Yorkshire Hockey family will be sad to learn of the death of Gerry Kale, a long serving member of Wakefield Hockey Club.
In recent years Gerry was best known as the delegate for many of Wakefield’s 1st and 2nd team games at College Grove.
Gerry always provided a warm welcome-drink for umpires on arrival, Lucozade at half time etc. Teams were equally well looked after.
Being a delegate can sometimes been seen as a chore. Not for Gerry, the match sheet was always well prepared and presented.
Above and beyond all that was his friendly face and cheerful chatter.
Our thoughts are with his family and the Wakefield club at a sad time.
Gerry’s funeral takes place at Wakefield Crematorium at 1-30pm this Friday June 27th June.
