The FIH have recently published the new Rules of Outdoor Hockey (you can find them here), with the implementation date at international level of 1st January 2017; but National Associations have discretion to decide the date of implementation at National Level.

eh_logo01.jpgEngland Hockey has decided to implement these changes at all levels effective 1st August 2017, ahead of the 2017/18 season.
As a National Governing Body of the sport, we want to promote a consistent set of rules throughout all levels of our sport, as well as preventing any rule changes that are not considered “major changes” to the game to be implemented mid-season. After working with the EH Rules and Regulations committee, taking advice from all levels of the game, we feel an implementation date for the start of the 2017/18 season is the most sensible time to make these changes.
Details of the rule changes that will be implemented will be released over the Summer of 2017, to allow players, coaches, umpires and technical officials time to review these changes and plan accordingly for the season.
