Sunday 12 January 2020: Girls Under 10 Week 4 v2

yhalogoblue.jpg Sunday 12 January 2020: Girls Under 10 Week 4 v2
Division 6 of yesterday's Girls Under-10 Week 4 (v2) session has been amended to show as a four-team division after the withdrawal of Thirsk 3.
In four-team divisions all teams play each other twice.
All results previously entered by teams have been copied into the newly revised fixtures.
We would be grateful, therefore, if all teams would check the results entered for accuracy and correct if necessary.
We would also be grateful if all teams would enter any missing results to the updated Divisions 6.

Thank you - Andy Pettigrew, YHA Web Manager

League Fixtures Postponed on 30 November 2019

yhalogoblue.jpgLeague Fixtures Postponed on 30 November 2019
YHA Men's and Women's league matches postponed due to frozen pitches on Saturday 30 November 2019 have been moved en bloc to the slip date of Saturday 15 February 2020.
Teams may decide to play by mutual agreement on a vacant Saturday or Sunday between now and Sunday 5 January (at the latest). This would leave other Sundays in January and February free in case of more bad weather postponements without using even more weekends up to the end of the season for this purpose.
All teams are reminded that start times and venues shown on the YHA Website for 15 February 2020 have been moved from the original 30 Nov fixture and will not necessarily be correct.
Home teams will need to reconfirm start time and venue with your venue admin and your opponents and then update the YHA Website as necessary.
Once match details have been confirmed please remove the "
Fixture moved from 30 Nov 19 - home team to re-confirm match details with opposition" note from your fixture(s).
If you have any issues with reconfirming start time and venue with your venue admin or opponent’s please talk to your Division Representative as early as possible.
There are still fives matches from 30 November with no result input, nor showing as postponed.
We would be geateful if the clubs involved: University of Leeds (1  x Men and 1 x Women), Kingston-upon-Hull (2 x Men) City of York (1 x Women) would add a result or 'postpone' the fixtures and we will move them to 15 Feb 20.
Failure to do this by the end of the week will mean that these fixtures will need to be rearranged according to the League Rules.

Women's League Division 5 South - Chapeltown 3 and Rotherham 2

yhalogoblue.jpg Women's League Division 5 South - Chapeltown 3 and Rotherham 2
The Women’s League have approved the amalgamation of Chapeltown 3 and Rotherham 2 for the remainder of season 19-20.  This amounts to 9 matches.
Both of these teams were supported teams, relying on players from the team above to support and develop the play of others in the teams.  When they asked for supported team status, both teams believed they could honour the rules for supported team status.  However both teams have discovered that is not sustainable, not least since Rotherham lost many of their players after the divisions had been decided.  In addition, all Division 5s have 10 teams which mean they have 4 blank dates with no fixtures.  If both Chapeltown 3 and Rotherham 2 withdrew from the league, then that would mean even fewer matches, which is why the decision was made.
June Smith - Women's League Secretary - 28 Nov 19

Both teams will follow the rules below:

  • Rotherham 2 will withdraw from the league and all their fixtures will be deleted and their results so far will be expunged.  This has already been completed.
  • Chapeltown 3 will absorb all the Rotherham 2 players who agree to move.  These players may be pulled up to play for Rotherham 1 if this team is short hence giving those players a chance to develop.

For Chapeltown 3 to retain their supported status they have to abide by the following rules:
  • Normal selection processes for promotion and relegation of players apply and will be in line with league rules.  These players will be previously identified on the team sheet and to the Div Rep and may not be used if a team can be raised from the normal playing squad.  All players on the MRF must be identified as C3 or R2 players in the first column (Club No) to ensure that 4 supported players from each club have been included.  Players who are being supported must always take priority in matches.
  • It will be necessary at the end of the season for the results for Chapeltown 3 to be deleted so that they do not have any effect on the promotion from that division.
  • This should not affect any other decisions as their results will not count.

At the end of the season, if either or both teams wish to re-join the league with supported team status for 2020-21, the Committee would have to be satisfied that the same scenario would not be repeated, for the sake of other clubs/teams within the league.
The combined team will appear on YHA Website fixtures and league table as Chapeltown/Rotherham 3.

Men's League Division 5 South - Rotherham 3 and Chapeltown 4

yhalogoblue.jpg Men's League Division 5 South - Rotherham 3 and Chapeltown 4
As you may be well aware a number of our clubs are struggling to field teams every week. In Division 5S both Rotherham 3 and Chapeltown 4 have cancelled at least 4 matches and have decided that they cannot continue as this is also unfair on the opposition teams.
The two clubs have held discussions and have asked the League if they can amalgamate the two teams and continue with Rotherham 3 fixtures and cancel Chapeltown 4 fixtures. This will take place from 16th November.
  • This has been agreed in principal by the league and I am now notifying you all on how this will work:
  • Chapeltown 4 results will be expunged and they have withdrawn from the League.
  • Rotherham 3 will change their name to Rotherham/Chapeltown 3 and will continue with Rotherham 3 fixtures.
  • The new team will become a supported team and not eligible for promotion. Their results will be shown on the website but at the end of the season they may be expunged so that their results do not affect any other teams chances of promotion. The results of Rotherham 3 may also be expunged so that their results do not affect any other teams chance of promotion.
  • The two clubs have agreed that there will be at least 4 players from each club in the team and a maximum of 7. If the new team still struggles for players they are allowed to include players from Chapeltown 3 and Rotherham 2 (In this case only players who have recently been promoted from Rotherham 3 team) to double up but keeping the same ratio of players.
  • Players from the new team can be promoted but only into their parent club teams.
